Ted Baker to launch new omnichannel proposition with Ship-From-Store and Express Click and Collect

Iconic British lifestyle brand Ted Baker has teamed up with OneStock to enhance its omnichannel proposition and improve the customer experience.

Having launched as a shirt specialist of some repute in Glasgow Ted Baker quickly became the place to buy some of the very best contemporary men's shirting around.

From the beginning Ted has had a very clear, unswerving, focus on quality, attention to detail and a quirky sense of humour, which gained the quickly growing brand the title of ‘No Ordinary Designer Label’. Everything produced under the Ted Baker name has his personality woven into its heart.

Distributed Order Management to Improve Customer Experience

Constantly exploring new ways to enhance the shopping experience across numerous platforms, Ted wanted to make a strategic shift in his omnichannel proposition by investing in solutions such as Ship-From-Store and Express Click and Collect.

By unifying stock across the entire estate thanks to the Order Management System, the project aims to:

  • Reduce loss of sales due to stock-outs
  • Increase full price sell-through
  • Reduce logistical costs relating to order fulfilment
  • Reduce the number of unsold products at the end of the season

The main drivers for the Ship-from-Store project are to enable greater product availability on Ted’s website, while maintaining a better sell-through rate of full-priced items within the store. OneStock will aid us in offering a seamless experience and delivery process for customers, keeping pace with the ever upward-shifting expectations placed on their favourite brands.

Ship-From-Store and Click and Collect via Intuitive App

Ted Baker stores will receive Click and Collect order instructions directly from the OneStock app. Previously, all orders were shipped from the warehouse to the store. Where possible, the new process will fulfil orders directly from the destination stock. The goal is to offer a faster pick-up time to customers while reducing logistical costs.

As a true multichannel app, store teams can also access Ship-From-Store orders via the same interface. Orders will be ‘claimed’ competitively by team members in qualifying stores, where they will be packed and shipped directly to customers. The solution will be rolled out initially in the UK followed by the US and other territories, where it will be used for local store fulfilment of ecommerce orders.

Delivered in just 9 months, OneStock will be connected to Ted Baker's existing IT systems via Mulesoft EDI, centralising flows from Microsoft Dynamics AX (ERP), Hybris (e-commerce), Microsoft AX POS and Metapack (carrier management).

We look forward to reporting back with post-launch data on benefit realisation from Ted’s new OMS.
